  • hardwood block species will vary according to what we have on hand
  • average dimensions: 5" W x 2 1/4" H x 7/8" D
  • each block is shaped & painted here in the studio with our unique bird & brush process:  the final piece has at least eight layers of paint, graphite & ink (including a secret wish we've handwritten) making each piece an original
  • our bird & brush studio signature on the back
  • natural grain on the sides & back exposed to show the story of wood
  • comes in an organic cotton bag with the Flying Edna logo & a card describing the wood species and origin

Kai wrote the story from which this excerpt was taken a few years ago, for Cuba: This Moment Exactly So - a collaboration with photographer, Lorne Resnick. He created the image on the hardwood block on May 20, 2020.
