elemental women sculptures
Our sculptures begin with reclaimed hardwood we've chosen for the beauty, location, & story. Attentive to the natural inclination of the wood, the grain is exposed on the sides and back so you can see the life of the piece.
Our friends at Montana Reclaimed Lumber take reclaimed timbers from around the country, and split them for flooring. They then offer us the ends that would otherwise go into a burn pile. We use these pieces specifically for our storyblocks and storyblock sculptures, which tend to be more regularly sized.
For the larger sculptures, we choose specific boards that interest us and split these in our studio, leaving organic edges left intact when possible. Whichever sculpture you choose, each piece will always be unique.
Made to freely stand in windowsills, on bookshelves, or in nooks of rooms you inhabit most, each style is named after an element with qualities you may wish to evoke in your self or invoke in your space of living.
Every sculpture comes with the option of pairing it with a storyblock. This way, as your story changes over time, you may decide to choose a new one. Sculptures come with a small card telling a bit about the wood it is made from, and the element it is named after.
