story keeper frame: crow dream original
This piece came from a dream Kai had recently, with a crow person sitting down beside him & beginning a running commentary on humans who've forgotten they're part-animal, too. There are several more crow pieces & stories that are in the works. This is just one of the first...
The crow is layered graphite, paint, ink & charcoal, over a handwritten text fragment from the dream on the language of crows. It's on reclaimed shagbark hickory, from a barn in North Carolina that was razed. The story keeper frame is handcrafted from French oak from a sustainable eighth-generation family managed forest in France. The wings are carved by Kai out of corral board - old fenceposts reclaimed from a Wyoming farm - with silver metal leaf.
[Please note: this is an original piece. While we may do versions of it in the future, using it as a general guide, at present this is the only one available.]
