studio piece: bird & brush frame #1
This piece is one of the first bird & brush frames we made, formed around the original pieces we chose for it...
The upper block is the original perspective block that's the master for 'only this'. It's hand painted on shagbark hickory, reclaimed from a barn that was razed somewhere in the Carolinas. The frame is corral board, old fenceposts reclaimed from a Wyoming farm. The wing is carved by Kai from redwood, reclaimed from a pickle brine barrel out of Oregon. The storyblock 'barely civilized' is gesso & ink on corral board.
