weekly pen & ink: 'escaping winter'

One of the very first things I remember of winter is asking my mother where did all the colors go? & she said Winter locks them in a box & doesn't let them out until Spring & I didn't think that was fair & I started hiding colors under my bed & in my closet & we made whispered plans at night to sneak them all out of the country &. in the middle of all that, Spring came & I took all the colors out to the front lawn & let them make their way to freedom on their own.
