night light (ink) print
Because there is not one of us who hasn't forgotten at times that each night has its own kind of light...
I used to walk sometimes through the fields on winter nights with my grandfather.
Often we'd stop on the ridge where you couldn't see the light from any other houses. We'd stand there quietly together in the snow & starlight.
Every night has its own kind of light, he said one time. You just have to be quiet enough to see it.
& it wasn't until much later that I understood how many dark nights he'd walked alone to give me that kind of light to see by.
